Hydrophyllaceae, The Waterleaf family (formerly Boraginaceae, the Borage family)
Native perennial. Also known as Bolander's scorpionweed. Lavender flowers bloom later than many native wildflowers, into the hot summer months. Large, velvety leaves make a nice ground cover in the woodland garden. Attracts beneficial insects including cute native bumblebees.
Native to Oregon and Northern California.
Grows 12-18” tall and as wide. Plant in partial shade with occasional summer water during the establishment period. Drought tolerant once established, though it may do dormant in dry spells.
