Aspidistra elatior

Native to forest floors of Japan and Taiwan. Grows shoots of pointed, long, smooth green leaves that can be up to 3 feet tall. Slowly forms a clump to 3 feet wide. Inconspicuous flowers near the ground.

Great in full shade to light shade (exposure to direct sun can burn leaves). Can tolerate dry shade conditions but will grow faster will regular summer water.

Can be grown as an indoor plant too!

Cut back damaged or faded leaves in early spring.
