Clinopodium douglasii (aka Satureja douglasii)
A beautiful native, trailing ground cover found in moist forest understories from so-called Alaska all the way down to so-called southern California. They have aromatic, evergreen leaves and delicate, white flowers all summer that pollinators love. They’re a wonderful medicinal plant. Try crushing a few leaves and smelling them the next time you meet them.
Prefers full shade to part shade, and moist soils. Will spread readily, but not as vigorously as other mint family plants.
