Native. Perennial. Purple flowers in summer are loved by bumblebees and other native pollinators. Blooms in later spring through early summer. This subspecies is our West coast native with a more upright habit, longer leaves and taller flower bracts than the introduced version that is common in lawns (and also is visited by bees). May reseed lightly.
Grows 4 to 18” tall and makes a great ground cover, understory flower or meadow plant. Likes sun to partial shade.
