Aka Mad-dog Skullcap, also known as Blue Skullcap, Side-Flowering Skullcap
Perennial. This mint family plant has small blue flowers in summer and spreads slowly by rhizomes in moist soil. Attracts many species of bees. Deer resistant. Native to much of North America. Medicinal, but as always use caution with herbal medicine and consult with your herbalist.
Plant in sun to light shade with regular water. Grows 18-24” tall and as wide.
Sow in flats 6 weeks before last frost after cold-moist stratification in the refrigerator for 30 days. Or direct sow in the garden in prepared soil a month before last frost. Keep seed bed moist while germinating.
