Carex pachystachya

Native sedge with semi-evergreen leaves, found dry to moist areas in forests and grasslands. Grows in dense mounds with reddish-brown flower clusters that turn to brown tufty seed heads. Also known as chamisso sedge.

Full sun to part shade, moist to dry soils. Drought tolerant.
