Chenopodium giganteum

Also called tree spinach, this Indian annual is related to spinach and quinoa. Bright magenta new growth. Pick new growth and small leaves for cooked greens or salad. Very nutritious. The seeds can be cooked or made into flour. Grows 4 to 10 ft. tall! Can also be used as a summer cover crop. May reseed itself.

Direct sow in April.

Planting Depth: 1/8" deep

Days to Germination: 5 to 7 days

Days to Harvest: 40 days and on
