Asclepias fascicularis

Native. Perennial. Monarch butterfly host plant. Clusters of small, intricate pink flowers. Silky seed pods in fall. Grow in full sun, in average, well-drained or dry soil. Grows 24 inches tall. Excellent on parking strips. Fiber plant used for cordage.

Plant in pots in fall; place outdoors. Grow in pots the first year.

Plant in pots in fall and place in a cool place, covered to protect from critters. Allow seedlings to grow in pots the first year to develop a sturdy tap root. Transplant gently.

Days to Germination: 10-20 days
