Beta vulgaris var. cicla

Tender leaves with a flavor in between spinach and chard are produced year-round. Plant will grow for several years then bolt and produce seeds for the next crop. Can grow in full sun with regular water, or in partial shade. One of my most reliable and cold hardy greens. Seed originally from Carol Deppe of Fertile Valley Seed.

Direct sow in April.

Water regularly.

Planting Depth: 1/4" deep

Days to Germination: 7 to 10 days

Days to Harvest: 50 to 60 days
